Welcome to Portlethen Small-Bore Rifle Club Website
We would like to extend an invitation to any potential new members.
The club currently has a membership of around fifteen, and has the capacity for both newcomers and experienced shooters. We have an eight point 25 yard indoor range, and club rifles and equipment are made available for the use of our members at no additional charge. We shoot .22 rifle, prone position only, and have no facility for standing or kneeling. We also cannot entertain air weapons shooting at present. Beginners and experienced shots alike will be made welcome, and as the club celebrated its Centenary in 2010, we are keen to expand and continue its traditions.
Due to the current Covid 19 pandemic, both our Clubhouse and Range are closed and will remain so till further notice. When we are in a position to reopen, it will be to full members for competitive shooting on Monday evenings only from 1930 hours. Tuesday evenings are reserved for newcomers and coaching as requested, again from 1930 hrs. Our minimum age for membership is 18 although we welcome juniors when accompanied by an appropriate adult.
Experience not necessary, beginners and experienced shots alike welcome. If you have a genuine interest in small-bore target shooting, please feel free to turn up at the club premises any Monday evening between 19:30 and 20:00. Beginners to the sport will be offered training in safety and guidance to achieve their ambitions in target shooting. Newcomers will be joined by full members wishing to use the range as a shared facility. Our members are from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations, and you can be assured of a warm welcome.
